HOW DO THEY WORK?

A series of small injections are administered and the product is absorbed by the fat cells. The fat cells gradually break down and are expelled from the body over the next few weeks.

WHERE CAN BE TREATED?

Dr Mags uses a range of Pluryal products which are suitable for use on most areas of the body. Areas which can be treated are:

1. Submental region (double chin)

2. Stomach

3. Outer and inner thighs

4. Hips 'love handles'

5. Arms 'bingo wings'

WHAT ABOUT THE LOOSE SKIN AFTERWARDS?

In order to prevent loose and sagging skin after the stubborn unwanted fat has been dissolved, a body firming product can be used topically with a dermal roller or a series of small injections into the skin which tighten the skin and reduce looseness or sagging. See our skin tightening page.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK?

It takes between 4-6 weeks to see the results of fat dissolving. After a few days, the skin of the area treated will appear slightly swollen and firm. This is a good sign because it indicates that the fat cells have taken up the product. As the fat cells then break down and are expelled from the body the swelling and firmness will subside and the desired results will be visible.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

On average, in order to experience the best results, it is recommended to have at least 3 consecutive treatments at 4 week intervals.

CONTRAINDICATIONS TO TREATMENT

1. If you have an active skin infection

2. If you have an untreated/ acute hormone problem (thyroid diseases)

3. If you have advanced organ disease e.g. renal or hepatic failure

4. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding

5. If you have a bleeding disorder

6. If you suffer from severe allergies which manifests as anaphylaxis
