POLYNUCLEOTIDE INJECTIONS IN TEDDINGTON

Advanced regenerative treatment to smooth, firm, and rejuvenate the skin

Looking for an alternative to tear trough filler or a treatment to improve skin quality from within?

Polynucleotides are an injectable regenerative treatment that uses naturally derived DNA chains to stimulate collagen production, improve hydration, reduce signs of ageing, and support skin healing. They’re suitable for the face, body, and even hair restoration, offering a natural way to restore radiance and skin health.

WHAT CAN POLYNUCLEOTIDES  BE USED FOR?

Polynucleotide injections improve texture, tone, and skin elasticity across the face and body. Common treatment areas include:

  •  Under-eye area – targets dark circles and fine lines (an ideal alternative to tear trough filler)

  • Forehead – softens static lines and improves skin texture

  • Around the mouth – smooths creases and fine lines

  • Neck and décolletage – firms and strengthens delicate skin

  • Loose skin on the body – treats inner thighs, arms, and abdomen

  • Scars and stretch marks – promotes intensive skin repair

  • Hair thinning – stimulates the scalp to support hair regrowth

WHAT ARE THEY AND HOW DO THEY WORK?

Polynucleotides are long DNA chains extracted from salmon or trout sperm and suspended in water for injection. Once injected using a fine needle or cannula, they begin to restore and regenerate the skin through three key mechanisms:

  • Stimulate fibroblasts – increasing natural collagen, elastin (for firmness), and hyaluronic acid (for hydration)

  • Fight oxidative stress – acting as powerful antioxidants to neutralise free radicals and prevent further skin ageing

  • Activate wound healing – triggering deep skin regeneration, making them ideal for treating scars and stretch marks

It is important to note that polynucleotides are NOT the same as skin boosters and Profhilo as they are not an injectable hyaluronic acid.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK?

Because Polynucleotides are a bio-regenerative treatment, results develop gradually as the skin begins to repair and strengthen itself from within. Initial improvements, such as increased hydration and a brighter complexion can be seen within 2 to 3 weeks, with continued improvement over the following weeks as collagen and elastin production increases.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER POLYNUCLEOTIDE TREATMENT?

There is minimal downtime with Polynucleotide injections, but some temporary effects are expected. If the treatment is administered using multiple small injections, you may notice small raised areas (or “blebs”) on the skin, which usually settle within 24 to 48 hours. If a cannula is used, mild swelling may occur at the injection site. Bruising is also possible, but typically light and easily concealable with makeup after 24 hours.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS OF POLYNUCLEOTIDE INJECTIONS LAST?

Results typically last between 6 to 9 months, although this can vary depending on the individual’s skin condition, lifestyle, and treatment area. Many clients choose to repeat the treatment every few months to maintain optimal skin quality and support ongoing regeneration.

WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE POLYNUCLEOTIDE INJECTIONS?

As with any injectable treatment, a thorough medical consultation is essential before planning Polynucleotide injections. While the treatment is safe for most people, there are a few contraindications, including:

1. Active skin infections

2. Feeling unwell at the time of treatment

3. Use of certain medications

4. Pregnancy or breastfeeding

Unlike dermal fillers, there is no risk of blocking blood vessels (vascular occlusion) with Polynucleotides and there are no long term risks. On the contrary, this treatment is a fantastic option for long term use.

Dr. Magenta will review your medical history in detail during your consultation to ensure it is safe and appropriate for you.
