MICRONEEDLING
(SKINPEN)

FROM

APPOINTMENT TIME

45 minutes

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Microneedling is the process of creating thousands of tiny ‘micro-holes’ or channels in the skin in order to stimulate the wound healing process and induce collagen production by stimulating the cells called fibroblasts which produce collagen. The device that Dr Mags uses for micro-needling is FDA approved and called SkinPen. The top of the pen has a single use cartridge containing 14 highest grade surgical stainless steel Japanese needles. This ensures that the correct type of injury is created to the skin in order to be able to stimulate it to repair and remodel itself.

WHAT CAN BE TREATED?

1. Fine lines and wrinkles

2. Acne, rosacea and acne scarring

3. Pigmentation and sun damage

4. The neck and décolletage area for anti-ageing

5. The backs of the hands

6. Stretch marks on other parts of the body

HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS?

Microneedling creates 'micro holes' in the deep layers of the skin which triggers the body's wound healing process. Whilst results are visible beforehand, it can take up to 4-6 weeks to see the most profound results. For the best results, patients are advised to have a course of at least 3 consecutive treatments 4-6 weeks apart.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE IT?

This can vary between individuals depending on their skin concerns however microneedling can be safely done every 4-6 weeks.
