HOW DO THEY WORK?
Botulinum Toxin A is injected to relax targeted muscles which in turn relax the overlying skin.
This stops the the muscles from being able to tug the skin and cause wrinkles and lines upon dynamic facial expression.

WHAT CAN ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS BE USED FOR?
1. To treat the forehead lines which appear when raising the eyebrows
2. To treat the ‘frown’ line between the eyebrows
3. To treat lateral eye lines called ‘crows feet’
4. To treat the ‘bunny’ lines when scrunching up the nose
5. To treat a high lip line when smiling, otherwise referred to as a ‘gummy’ smile
6. To treat droopy smiles or downturned corners of the mouth
7. To treat masseter muscles which helps patients with TMJ dysfunction
8. To treat chin dimpling - this looks a lot like the skin of an orange
9. To soften sharp jaw lines
10. To tighten and lift the neck (see Nefertiti neck lift section)
11. To treat excessive sweating
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO WORK?
It takes up to 14 days to achieve the desired effect of relaxing the muscles and smoothing lines.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
On average between 3-4 months but this can vary between individuals.
CONTRAINDICATIONS TO TREATMENT
You will always be required to have a thorough consultation prior to any treatment planning, however there are a few contraindications to having anti-wrinkle injections:
1. If you have a skin infection
2. If you feel unwell
3. If you are taking certain medications
4. If you have certain neuromuscular conditions such as myasthenia gravis
5. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding
